ERASMUS TRIP TO FLORENCE AND PISA

**November 10th: Day Trip to Florence and Pisa for Erasmus Students**

**07:00** – **Departure from Rome**
– **Meeting point**: We’ll gather in the main square (exact location will be provided) for our private bus.

### **Morning in Florence**

**10:00** – **Arrival in Florence**

Florence, known as the birthplace of the Renaissance, is rich in art, history, and architecture. As the home of masters like Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and Dante, the city is a true treasure trove of cultural heritage. Its beautiful squares and historic buildings offer a journey through time.

– **10:15 – 13:00** – **Free Walking Tour of Florence**
– **Piazza del Duomo**: Here, we’ll admire the exterior of the stunning **Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore** and the **Giotto’s Bell Tower**—two of the most famous architectural landmarks in Italy.
– **Piazza della Signoria**: This square is a wonderful open-air museum with sculptures like the **Neptune Fountain** and the **David** (a replica of Michelangelo’s original).
– **Ponte Vecchio**: Stroll along Florence’s most famous bridge, lined with shops and stunning views over the river.
– **Piazzale Michelangelo**: Optional but highly recommended—a short walk up to this spot gives you breathtaking panoramic views of the city, and it’s a perfect place for photos.

**13:00 – 13:45** – **Free Lunch Break**
– Tip: Try a typical Florentine sandwich, such as the local specialty “lampredotto,” or a classic Italian focaccia.

### **Afternoon in Pisa**

**14:00** – **Departure to Pisa**

Pisa is known worldwide for its iconic Leaning Tower. Beyond this, the city holds a fascinating history as a powerful maritime republic in the Middle Ages. Today, the tower and surrounding structures form a UNESCO World Heritage site.

**15:00 – 17:00** – **Free Tour of Pisa**
– **Piazza dei Miracoli**: This beautiful square houses the **Leaning Tower**, **Pisa Cathedral**, and the **Baptistery**. We’ll have time to admire and take photos from the outside of these iconic structures.
– **Free time**: Explore the surroundings, take pictures with the Leaning Tower, or relax in the green spaces.
